citta
Perceived, observed; considered, meditated on.
In Vedanta
As a function of the antaḥkaraṇam, citta refers to memory and recollection — the storehouse of impressions (saṃskāras) from past experiences. In Yoga, citta refers to the total mind-field. In Vedānta, citta-śuddhi (purity of mind) is an essential preparation for self-knowledge, achieved through karma-yoga and upāsanā.
