jñānayogaḥ
A life devoted to knowledge and free of life's roles; saṃnyāsaḥ.
In Vedanta
The path of knowledge — a life wholly dedicated to self-inquiry through śravaṇa, manana, and nididhyāsana, typically in the context of sannyāsa. In the Gītā, Kṛṣṇa presents jñāna-yoga as the direct means to mokṣa for one whose mind has been prepared by karma-yoga. It is not mere study but the living pursuit of the truth 'I am Brahman' under the guidance of a teacher.
