mokṣa
मोक्ष
Liberation; freedom from the cycle of birth and death.
In Vedanta
Not a future event or a place to reach. Mokṣa is the recognition that one is already free — that ātmā was never bound. It is the cessation of self-ignorance (avidyā-nivṛtti), not the gain of something new.
