nirguṇaḥ
That which is free from all attributes.
In Vedanta
Brahman as it truly is — free from all limiting attributes, guṇas, and form. Nirguṇa does not mean 'without any nature' but 'not limited by any quality.' Brahman is nirguṇa because it is not a product of māyā and the guṇas do not apply to it. The Upaniṣads negate all attributes (neti neti) to reveal Brahman as pure existence-consciousness, beyond all description.
