rajas
Energy; ambition; enthusiasm; anxiety; the active guṇa.
In Vedanta
The guṇa of activity, passion, and restlessness. A rājasika mind is driven by desire, ambition, and attachment to results. It projects outward, seeking fulfillment in objects and achievements. Rajas agitates the mind, making it difficult to sustain the quiet attention needed for self-inquiry. Karma-yoga is the primary means for transforming rajas into sattva.
