samādhānam
Fixing the mind in contemplation on the true nature of self.
In Vedanta
The capacity to hold the mind steadily on the teaching and on the nature of ātmā — the last of the six inner disciplines. In Vedānta, samādhāna is not a trance state but a focused, abiding attention to what the śāstra reveals. It is the mind's ability to dwell on the truth rather than being scattered by competing demands and distractions.
