vedāntaḥ
Scriptures at the end of the Veda dealing with knowledge that is the self; that which says you are whole and you are the whole.
In Vedanta
Literally 'the end of the Veda' — both in the sense of the concluding portion and the ultimate purport. Vedānta as a teaching tradition (sampradāya) unfolds the meaning of the Upaniṣads through a teacher who has understood them. The vision of Vedānta is that the individual (jīva) is non-different from the whole (Brahman) — this is not a philosophy to be believed but a fact to be recognized.
